This gathering is an introduction to a few basics of American Sign Language. Through the Phoenix and beauty of language we will get to connect, learn and expand our community and mission. We will learn numbers, abcs, technicality, a few communicative phrases as well as fingerspelling participants' names. **I am a hearing individual and respect those in the D/ deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. I do not claim to be fluent or teach any content outside of my abilities. I am always open for feedback.** looking forward to learning with you!
Comfortable clothing you can move your arms and hands in. For those with longer hair, possibly a hair tie to assist in focus/eye contact. Willingness to both learn and make mistakes.
Meet outside in the patio area on the side of the building with the tables and umbrellas. Parking is very limited so plan accordingly with your time. The group will begin promptly at 4pm join in when you can.
